A program that develops and supports collaborations between industry partners and institutions of higher education that serve historically excluded populations.
The participant served as a Mentor for the Fall 2023 DxD Intensives program, a collaboration between Workday, an enterprise management cloud company, and San Francisco State University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and home to the nation’s first College of Ethnic Studies.
Mentors spent the semester providing valuable guidance, feedback and collaboration to student participants. Serving as a professional touchpoint, Mentors nurtured student teams as they addressed key design challenges in project research, product capabilities, and user experience & accessibility.
Coursework in Fall 2023 centered around the challenge: Create a high-fidelity product that educates and empowers diverse communities to take action around environmental sustainability in greater numbers — to provide student participants with industry experience, touchpoints to a professional network, and a highly relevant project for their continued design career.
DxD Intensives – which develops and supports collaborations between industry partners and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) of higher education – is a program of the Diversify by Design (DxD) coalition.
