The participant served as a Mentor for the Fall 2023 DxD Intensives program, a collaboration between Delta Dental of California, the nation’s leading provider of dental insurance, and Lehman College, the City University of New York's only four-year college in the Bronx, serving the borough and surrounding region as an intellectual, economic, and cultural center.
Mentors spent the semester providing valuable guidance, feedback and collaboration to student participants. Serving as a professional touchpoint, Mentors nurtured student teams as they addressed key design challenges in project research, product capabilities, and user experience & accessibility.
Coursework in Fall 2023 centered around the challenge: How might we redesign the Delta Dental Provider Search experience so that patients can find the Dentist that is right for their needs? — to provide student participants with industry experience, touchpoints to a professional network, and a highly relevant project for their continued design career.
DxD Intensives – which develops and supports collaborations between industry partners and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) of higher education – is a program of the Diversify by Design (DxD) coalition.
